Scent Technologies at the Turn of the Century: Initial Histories and Findings

We are pleased to announce the participation of Prof. Simon Niedenthal from Malmö University, Sweden, in Digital Olfaction 2022 Annual meeting. Prof. Niendenthal will give a presentation about the “Scent Technologies at the Turn of the Century: Initial Histories and Findings”.

Prof. Niedenthal will present his results regarding company interviews, archival document research, media archaeology, and prototype evaluation to shed light on the design choices for two technologies: DigiScents, Inc.’s iSmell prototype devices and TriSenx Holdings, Inc.’s Scent Dome, and will furthermore discuss their related media and historical contexts.

Dr. Brooks, from the University of Chicago, will join Prof. Niedenthal during his presentation.
He is doctoral student at the University of Chicago.
