The DOS committee is pleased to announce the participation of Dr. Katsuya Ujimoto from Ricoh Company, Ltd., Japan.
Dr. Ujimoto will present a demonstration of Ricoh’s “Kouawase（香合せ）with Real Time Spectrometry“.
In this demonstration, you can synthesize, feel, and digitalize some scents in real time.
For example, diverse scents of roses are synthesized using their main 8 components.
Gas composition of your favorite scent are digitalized as a 3D spectrum image using field asymmetric ion mobility spectrometry (FAIMS) which is developed by Ricoh.
The spectrum image and language expression of your feeling could be useful dataset for reproduction of your favorite scent. You can take the dataset as an Non-fungible token (NFT) for digital olfaction souvenir.
